From Distance Challenge

In an effort to abide by the social distancing guidelines while still doing our part, The Sports Shed has teamed up with our recipient partner Ring of Hope to create the “From Distance Challenge”!

In June of 2019 The Sports Shed built a basketball court on Ring of Hope’s vacant lot to support their youth fitness and mentoring programs. Today, in the wake of the COVID crisis, we are partnering to expand their community food pantry to meet the growing need of south side families in crisis due to the pandemic.

What better way to give back than through sports participation?

It’s easy to get involved and help families. 1. Make a basketball shot (any distance is ok, but 6 feet is recommended 😉), 2. donate to the cause, 3. Challenge your friends to do the same!

Here are the details:

1.     Determine your shot. You can take your shot with anything (paper or ball) into anything (official hoop or garbage can).
2.     Film yourself making the shot “from distance,” post your favorite social channel and tag The Sports Shed.
3.     Nominate three people by tagging them in your post.
4.     Donate $10 through this link!

If you give before May 10th, your gift will be matched by Charity GoFundMe as part of their #GivingTuesdayNow campaign!

We can’t wait to see kids back on the court. Stay healthy and safe!
