Anthony Skokna Memorial Fund
Sports have been an important part of Anthony Skokna’s life as he played baseball and soccer all his life. Anthony was a teacher of many years at St. Joseph High School, Providence-St. Mel, H.S. and John Marshall High School, where he taught history and social studies and coached basketball, baseball and soccer. He coached Babe Ruth Baseball and was a referee for AYSO soccer for many years as well.
He played baseball at Columbia College, Columbia, MO, where he played shortstop, pitched, and in one game he hit back-to-back grand slams. He enjoyed soccer locally. One of Anthony’s favorite memories was working with Mother Teresa’s Sisters in Haiti while on his honeymoon and playing pick-up soccer with neighborhood youth.
We feel nothing could please him more than to assist youth in under-served communities to be equipped for sports.
